Job summary

Montana-Dakota-Utilities-Co is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support the Energy Management System (EMS/SCADA) and lead design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of hardware, software, operating systems and security—ensuring safety and reliability.

The role emphasizes NERC CIP compliance, on-call support, and collaboration with Information Services to train users and implement new technologies across the IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Requires four-year degree in computer science, IT or related field and related experience.
• Minimum two years’ technical support experience for IT infrastructure hardware and software.
• Minimum four years’ experience for higher level systems administration roles.
• Preferred certifications in Windows Server, Oracle, Cisco, VMware and Tripwire, and familiarity with Linux.

Responsibilities

• Install, manage, patch, and upgrade EMS/SCADA applications and related systems.
• Design, code, test and integrate software and hardware for EMS/SCADA.
• Troubleshoot EMS/SCADA to ensure 24x7x365 availability.
• Support NERC CIP standards and policy development.
• Collaborate with IS staff to train users on new technologies.
• Participate in after-hours On Call rotation.
• Work with clients and consultants on maintenance and enhancements.
• Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.
