Job summary

Howard County Government seeks an EMS QA/QI Analyst to coordinate data collection and evaluation for QA/QI programs within the Emergency Services Bureau. You will maintain documents and support prehospital care quality standards across ESB and OCMO, assisting with data-driven improvements and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with two years of related experience, EMS management knowledge, and experience in education program development and report generation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience.
• Experience as ALS clinician, nurse, or PA within three years of application.
• Knowledge of QA/QI processes and state regulations.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
• Familiarity with Howard County geography.
• Ability to maintain PHI confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Review EMS reports for accuracy, completeness, and policy and protocol compliance.
• Monitor EMS system and personnel performance to provide patient care feedback; review Patient Care reports for correctness.
• Recommend updates to training based on report reviews.
• Generate reports, conduct internal audits to identify deficiencies and track trends.
• Ensure adherence to QA/QI processes per state regulations and policy.
• Investigate inquiries, complaints, and incidents involving EMS personnel.
• Oversee QA/QI records management.
• Complete MIEMSS reports as required.
• May serve on Department work groups and committees.
