EMS Programs Coordinator – Job DescriptionDepartment: TrainingReports To: Training ManagerLocation: RVA (Corporate Office) Status: Full-time Salary / ExemptPosition Summary:The EMS Programs Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and oversight of EMS-related programs, training initiatives, compliance activities, and special projects. This position serves as a liaison between operations, training, quality assurance, and external stakeholders to ensure programs are delivered efficiently, meet regulatory requirements, and support organizational goals.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a lead instructor for EMS educational programs.Instruct and evaluate students in both classroom and practical skill settings.Deliver American Heart Association (AHA) courses, including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and other approved curricula as credentialed.Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and practical exercises that align with course objectives and regulatory requirements.Monitor student performance and provide coaching, mentoring, and remediation as needed.Maintain accurate course documentation, attendance records, testing results, and certification records.Ensure all educational programs are conducted in accordance with state EMS regulations, National EMS Education Standards, American Heart Association guidelines, and organizational policies.Support the growth and accreditation of EMS education programs, including the development and ongoing refinement of the Paramedic Program to meet workforce and community healthcare needs.Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of EMS educational programs.Coordinate clinical, field internship, and ride-along experiences for EMS students and program participants.Collaborate with Regional Training Coordinators to assess and identify regional educational needs, training priorities, and workforce development opportunities.Support the recruitment, development, and successful completion of EMS students, contributing to workforce development initiatives and the cultivation of future EMS professionals.May be assigned to staff an ambulance as needed to support operational and training requirements.Performs other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMay provide oversight and direction to adjunct instructors and program participantsRequired QualificationsCurrent Virginia EMT or Paramedic certification (National Registry preferred).Minimum of 5 years of EMS field experience.Current EVOC certification with a clean motor vehicle record.Certifications in AHA ACLS, PALS, and BLS CPR.Virginia EMS Education Coordinator (EC) certification.Experience in program coordination, training, quality improvement, or project management.Proficiency with Microsoft OfficePreferred QualificationsInstructor Certifications in AHA ACLS, PALS, and CPR.Associates degree in EMS, Healthcare Administration, Public Safety, or a related field preferred.Core CompetenciesStrong knowledge of EMS operations, education, and clinical standards.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
