Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago is seeking an Emergency Program Coordinator (RN) to act as a liaison between the hospital, EMS providers, and the broader health system. You will advocate for the ED and coordinate EMS-related activities to improve patient flow and safety.

The role requires active nursing licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS or ENPC credentials, and EMS outreach experience. Full-time day schedule with strong collaboration across care teams.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license issued by the state.
• Current BLS certificate on hire and maintain.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• PALS and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• One year EMS outreach experience preferred; three years EMS clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between the health system/market/hospital and EMS providers.
• Advocate for the hospital with private, local, regional, and state EMS agencies.
• Ensure collaboration across care settings within the facility related to EMS/public safety.
• Direct accountability for care in the ED under physician supervision.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to medical team and physicians.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and treatment responses.
