Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL seeks a Program Coordinator to act as a liaison between EMS providers and the hospital, advocating for the hospital with EMS agencies and ensuring collaboration across care settings. The role reports to the physician and involves direct patient care coordination in the Emergency Department.

The position requires active RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS or ENPC certification within set timelines, and EMS outreach/clinical EMS experience as preferred

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS and/or ENPC required within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One year EMS outreach experience preferred; three years EMS clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between the health system/market/hospital and EMS providers.
• Advocate the hospital with private, local, regional, and state EMS agencies.
• Coordinate collaboration across all care settings within the facility as it relates to EMS and public safety relations.
• Directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department under the direction of the physician.
• Communicates with the medical team regarding changes in the patient’s clinical condition and responds to changes quickly.
