Job summary

Emerus seeks an EMS Liaison to bridge communications between EMS providers and our hospitals, fostering partnerships and improving patient transfers. You will support EMS education, coordinate programs, and drive performance improvements while ensuring HIPAA compliance and EMTALA obligations where applicable.

You will collaborate with hospital leadership and EMS agencies to enhance patient safety, streamline handoffs, and strengthen regional EMS relationships. On-call and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• EMT certification or higher with HIPAA knowledge.
• Minimum 2+ years EMS or healthcare experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work off-hours and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison between hospital and EMS agencies, maintaining strong relationships.
• Support performance improvement initiatives and service line excellence.
• Develop collaborative relationships with EMS stakeholders to support clinical coordination and patient safety.
• Provide education to EMS providers about hospital services and access processes.
• Coordinate EMS educational programs and recognition activities with compliance.
• Conduct regular site visits with EMS partners to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.
• Track and report EMS metrics; share de-identified data per policy.
• Collaborate with ED leadership to capture data, monitor EMS-related issues, and resolve them.
