Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) invites applications for an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor to join our dynamic EMS Academy in Reno, NV. The position focuses on theory instruction, clinical/lab coordination, and student assessment across multiple modalities, including in-person, hybrid, and online formats.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree or higher in EMS or related fields, state paramedic certification, teaching experience, and an EMS instructor endorsement.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree in Fire/EMS or a bachelor’s in science/education.
• Current NV paramedic certification or license, or ability to obtain by start of semester.
• Four years of full-time paramedic EMS experience.
• EMS instructor endorsement on Nevada certification by start of semester.
• Two years teaching EMS (or 10 years EMS experience in lieu of teaching).

Responsibilities

• Teach 30 (15/15) credit hours per academic year across in-person, hybrid, online, and live-virtual formats.
• Instruct EMS students and assess performance using college systems.
• Prepare syllabi, course materials, and teaching aids; organize learning activities.
• Support assessment of student learning outcomes and curriculums.
• Coordinate theory with clinical instruction and supervise practicum sites.
• Ensure safety and proper operation of equipment and training facilities.
