Qualifications

• Valid Oklahoma EMT‑Paramedic or EMT‑Advanced license (EMT‑Advanced may only teach in EMT or AEMT labs)
• Minimum two years of clinical or field experience at current license level
• Associate’s Degree (preferred)
• Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office or equivalent
• Ability to adapt teaching style to diverse learning needs
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn department software (e.g., Moodle)
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of self‑management
• Health Care Provider CPR documentation and other EMS certifications as required

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Deliver quality lab instruction and provide learning opportunities per National Registry standards
• Maintain professional attire (business casual) and conduct
• Coordinate with EMS faculty, HP Lab Coordinator, and Program Director to align objectives and expectations
• Adhere to course guidelines and clinical syllabus
• Set up labs 15 minutes early; assist students with laboratory skills, evaluate proficiency, and document observations
• Provide immediate verbal and written feedback, ensuring standards meet National Registry guidelines
• Document and notify faculty of student absences or issues with protocol
• Serve as mentor and role model, maintain positive faculty/staff relations, and report concerns to Program Director
• Abide by Board of Regents, College Policies & Procedures, health and safety training, and emergency drills

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

1. General Physical Requirements: Occasionally lift up to 50 lb., frequently up to 20 lb. or 10 lb. constant for handling equipment and materials.
2. Physical Activities: Communicate instruction, move about classroom/lab, stand or remain stationary as needed, operate computer and mobile devices, use upper/lower body for force up to 50 lb., touch objects and equipment, position self with apparatus.
3. Visual Acuity: Observe and assess accuracy and neatness of work.
4. Working Conditions: Perform tasks both indoors and outdoors; demonstrate required skills per Oklahoma State and NREMT standards.
