Job summary

Bridgerland Technical College is seeking a part-time Emergency Services Instructor in Logan, Utah. The role involves delivering engaging classroom, laboratory, and skills-based instruction to prepare students for EMS careers.

You will foster student confidence, competence, and professionalism while ensuring alignment with current EMS protocols and standards. The position requires EMT certification and at least one year of EMS paramedic experience.

Qualifications

  • Must have EMT certification.
  • One year of experience working in emergency medical services as a paramedic is required.
  • EMS Instructor Certification at the Paramedic level or ability to obtain it is required/desired.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to teach and evaluate EMS knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction aligned with EMS standards.
  • Demonstrate and evaluate emergency medical skills in lab, simulation, and clinical settings.
  • Assist with curriculum development and program improvement.

About Bridgerland Technical College

What You'll Do

As a Part-Time Emergency Services Instructor, you'll provide engaging classroom, laboratory, and skills-based instruction that prepares students for careers in emergency medical services. You'll help students build the confidence, competence, and professionalism required to provide exceptional patient care in emergency situations.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction aligned with program curriculum and current EMS standards.
  • Demonstrate and evaluate emergency medical skills in laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings.
  • Assist with curriculum development and continuous program improvement.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely coaching, mentoring, and competency evaluations.
  • Conduct and evaluate required skills pass-offs.
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and competency documentation.
  • Foster a safe, professional, and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote student success and program excellence.
  • Model professionalism, ethical decision-making, teamwork, and evidence-based patient care.
  • Stay current with EMS protocols, instructional methods, and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will have:

  • At least one year of experience working in emergency medical services as a paramedic.
  • A current EMS Instructor Certification at the Paramedic level, or the ability to obtain and maintain certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to effectively teach and evaluate emergency medical knowledge and clinical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to professionalism, safety, and student success.
  • The ability to engage, mentor, and motivate students with diverse learning styles.
  • A passion for preparing future emergency medical professionals for successful careers.

Previous teaching or instructional experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements
