Air Methods in Danville, VA seeks a Rotor Wing Pilot to join the EMS air medical team, operating EC 135 aircraft under VFR conditions and supporting critical patient transport. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and coordination with medical crews.

Qualifications

• 2000 total flight hours with minimum of 1500 flight hours in category.
• 1000 hours PIC in category.
• 500 hours rotor wing turbine time.
• 50+ hours night unaided or 100 hours NVG time.

Responsibilities

• Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.
• Completes pre-flight checks and daily flight log sign-offs.
• Final authority for aircraft operations and safety of passengers.
• Maintain knowledge of medical interior and systems for backup aircraft.
• Complete required documentation and flight planning on short notice.
• Participate in meetings and community outreach activities.
