Job summary

The City of Memphis Fire Department seeks a firefighter EMT/paramedic to support Fire Suppression and EMS operations. You will administer medical treatment, transport patients by ambulance, educate the public on fire safety, and coordinate with hospital staff during and after emergencies.

You must be a high school graduate, hold Tennessee EMT licensure or eligibility, pursue Advance EMT/Paramedic within 18 months, complete NFPA 1001 certification, and possess a valid Tennessee Class D driver’s

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be licensed or eligible for EMS licensure in Tennessee (EMT) and obtain licensure prior to employment.
• Must pursue Advanced EMT and/or Paramedic license within 18 months as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs firefighting and EMS duties as assigned, including patient assessment and care.
• Operates ambulance and coordinates patient transport with hospital staff.
• Educates public on fire safety, prevention, and hazard mitigation.
• Assists with loading/unloading patients and uses protective equipment as required.
• Maintains equipment and adheres to safety protocols.
