Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking an EMS Road Technician 2 to travel to customer sites and diagnose complex equipment issues in EMS categories, including large hydraulic excavators and other heavy equipment, while upholding safety rules and representing the company professionally.

The role requires a high school diploma, 4+ years of earth-moving experience, and strong mechanical/diagnostic skills; a valid driver’s license and ability to read schematics are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 4+ years of Earth Moving experience strongly preferred.
• DOT Physical Examination (Medical card) required.
• MACS or equivalent air conditioning training/certification.
• Must own and safely use mechanic’s tools and equipment.
• Working knowledge of equipment design and safety requirements.
• Strong safety consciousness and ability to communicate issues clearly.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and be flexible with work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Services and oversees repairs at the job site to ensure proper working condition.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical problems and performs onsite repairs.
• Fabricates parts and equipment as required.
• Reads electrical schematics to diagnose wiring issues.
• Understands engine, transmission, hydraulic, and emissions systems for diagnostics.
• Understands safe rigging and lifting practices for large components.
• Communicates equipment issues with customers and supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.
• Adheres to safety requirements and attends branch meetings.
