Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking an EMS Road Technician 2 to travel to customer sites and diagnose/correct equipment malfunctions in EMS categories, including large hydraulic excavators, 200+ HP crawler dozers, and other heavy equipment.

You will represent Sunbelt professionally, diagnose electrical/mechanical issues, and perform onsite repairs to ensure safe operation. Requirements include a high school diploma, 4+ years with earth-moving equipment, a DOT medical card, and MACS or equivalent

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience with earth moving and similar equipment preferred.
• DOT Physical Examination (Medical card) required.
• MACS or equivalent air conditioning training/certification.
• Own and safely use mechanic’s tools and equipment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to prioritize work assignments and be flexible.

Responsibilities

• Services and oversees repairs to ensure proper working condition at the job site.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical problems and performs onsite repairs.
• Fabricates parts and equipment as needed to meet shop/customer needs.
• Understands complex electrical schematics for diagnostics.
• Understands engine, transmission, hydraulic, and emissions systems with diagnostic software.
• Follows safe rigging and lifting practices for large components.
• Communicates equipment issues with customers and supervisor to ensure satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.
• Adheres to safety requirements and participates in branch meetings.
