Job summary

ProMedica is seeking a Clinical Education Specialist for Staff Development at Toledo Hospital. You will develop and deliver educational programs for new hires, competency assessments, and continuing education, using adult learning principles and evidence-based methods.

You will lead pre-hospital care training (BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, EVOC) and collaborate with leadership to review protocols, improve quality, and mentor staff and students throughout orientation and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must maintain current knowledge in area of expertise through self-directed education and participation in formal and continuing education.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills.
• Three (3) years' experience as a nurse with 1-2 years' experience as a Paramedic; two years of classroom and clinical teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and facilitates educational programs within the department, including new hire orientation, skills training, competency assessments, in-services, and continuing education.
• Leads and coordinates pre-hospital care training (BCLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.).
• Partners with leadership to review/update medical protocols and enhance quality initiatives.
• Mentors staff and students to foster lifelong learning and engagement.
• Oversees Field Training Officers onboarding and provides direct field training support as needed.
• Collaborates with external training institutions to maintain partnerships.
