Job summary

Lee County Public Safety is seeking a Training and Education Specialist to plan, develop, and deliver high-quality EMS education for paramedic students and prehospital providers. You will support paramedic school, in-service sessions, onboarding, and simulation lab operations with instructors and training officers to meet County and State standards.

You will create curriculum, teach hands-on skills, and use learning management systems to track progress and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and one year of EMS or related experience.
• Active Florida Paramedic Certification or Registered Nurse license.
• Current provider status in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Create and update paramedic-level education content and coursework.
• Build lesson plans, skills checklists, training materials, and scenarios.
• Deliver instruction in classroom, simulation lab, and hands-on sessions.
• Teach AHA courses such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Provide NAEMT or EVOC instruction when assigned.
• Use LMS to post content, track progress, and document performance.
• Support paramedic school instruction and skill development.
• Assist with quarterly in-service training for EMS staff.
• Onboard new employees and guide required education.
• Operate and maintain the simulation lab and equipment.
