Job summary

Palm Beach State College is seeking an EMS Director to oversee Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic programs. You will administer the AS degree in EMS, continuing education, and certifications, while ensuring accreditation compliance and program guidelines.

The role involves guiding staff, coordinating curricula, budgeting, and liaising with departments and external agencies to promote college programs and student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Four years of field level EMS experience in a pre-hospital environment.
• Two years teaching experience in EMS education.
• Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Guides, leads, reviews, verifies, observes, and manages the work of people reporting directly to you.
• Identifies, coaches, and supervises staff and instructors.
• Coordinates, schedules, and evaluates delivery, operation, maintenance and inventory control activities of the unit.
• Plans for equipment and facilities and manages textbooks and materials.
• Works with subject matter experts for curriculum development.
• Schedules courses, ensures lab safety, and advises students.
• Develops short-term goals, objectives and recommendations; coordinates implementation of program goals and evaluation procedures.
• Ensures research compliance and documents implementation to support accreditation compliance.
