Job summary

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is hiring an Associate Professor for EMS/Paramedic instruction in Myrtle Beach. The role involves developing curriculum, teaching didactically in classroom, lab and clinical settings, and evaluating students according to SC EMS standards.

The instructor will coordinate with the EMS program director to supervise clinical rotations, track student progress, and help upgrade the EMS program to meet evolving career paths within South Carolina’s EMS education

Qualifications

Requires an Associate degree in a related health field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Licensed paramedic in South Carolina; National Registry Paramedic certification.
CPR Instructor and SC EMT Instructor certifications required.

Responsibilities

Prepare lectures for classroom instruction.
Prepare appropriate lab exercises in conjunction with the lecture.
Develop course instructional package and instructor information aligned with learning outcomes.
Required office hours to assist with tutoring, advising and counseling.
Evaluate students through assignments, exams and practical scenarios.
Participate in departmental and advisory committee meetings.
Attend college functions and college-wide meetings.
Support the college goals and mission statement.
