Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an EMS Coordinator for the Emergency Department at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. The role coordinates between the hospital and local EMS providers, driving collaboration and ensuring top-tier patient care.

The position oversees EMS education, quality improvement, and routine reporting, while supporting hospital staff with EMS integration and ongoing partnerships with community responders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic required.
• Minimum of 3 years EMS experience with prehospital or hospital patient contact.
• Preferred: American Heart ACLS and PALS.
• Preferred: State of Ohio Emergency Services Instructor.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to enhance relations between hospital and EMS providers.
• Communicate with EMS providers at least monthly.
• Facilitate EMS communication with the Emergency Department staff and other hospital staff as needed.
• Provide hospital leadership with routine reports on EMS stations’ needs, challenges and improvements.
• Monitor and report EMS statistics and volumes, especially capacity and satisfaction.
• Plan and organize EMS events and hospital-based EMS education programs.
• Maintains hospital’s EMS Lounge and participates in EMS meetings.
• Participates in hospital committees as appropriate to role.
