Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.

The Vulcan Asset Management (VAM) Analyst is the primary driver of data integrity and strategic insight for our enterprise maintenance operations. This role is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of asset data—from initial capture and governance to sophisticated analysis that enables proactive business decisions. By ensuring that VAM system data is clean, accessible, and actionable, the Analyst provides the business with critical visibility into total cost of ownership, capital planning, and repair and maintenance efficiencies. Reporting directly to the VAM- Program Manager, this position bridges the gap between technical data management and executive-level strategy, working cross-functionally to optimize asset performance and ensure regulatory compliance.

By ensuring that VAM system data is clean, accessible, and actionable, the Analyst provides the business with critical visibility into total cost of ownership, capital planning, and repair and maintenance efficiencies. Reporting directly to the VAM- Program Manager, this position bridges the gap between technical data management and executive-level strategy, working cross-functionally to optimize asset performance and ensure regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions
  • Data Stewardship: Capture, create, and audit asset management data to ensure all inputs/outputs are governed, accurate, and ready for enterprise-level reporting.
  • Strategic Analysis: Evaluate complex datasets to drive proactive operations, focusing on total cost of ownership, capital replacement cycles, and repair vs. replace modeling.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Act as the data partner for Leadership, Operations, Operations Support, and Sourcing to provide tailored insights that influence procurement and maintenance strategies.
  • System Collaboration: Partner with the IT Data & Analytics (DnA) team to develop and refine high-value dashboards and automated reporting tools.
  • Regional Alignment: Work closely with VAM Regional Analysts to ensure data consistency across the enterprise and to present unified findings to stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in asset data workflows and implement solutions to improve data velocity and accuracy.
  • Risk & Compliance: Assess risks within asset management practices and develop mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Education
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 to 5 year’s experience
Experience
  • Experience in data analysis, preferably in asset management or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with a strong understanding of statistical methods and data visualization.
  • Experience with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software systems (e.g., Oracle EAM) and an understanding of their functionalities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a strong focus on data accuracy, governance, and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles and strong mathematical skills.
Other Requirements
  • Position requires knowledge and awareness of site hazards. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses when visiting plant locations.
  • Use of telephone, computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices is essential.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
