Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Emergency Medical Services, Healthcare, Education or closely related field, or the ability to complete within six months.
• Current, unrestricted NC Paramedic credential or eligible via reciprocity within 30 days of employment.
• At least three years of prehospital Paramedic-level experience.
• NC OEMS Level I Instructor credential at Paramedic level, or eligibility to obtain within six months.
• Ability to obtain program medical director credentialing within three months.
• Documented EMS/healthcare/public-safety education experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, delivers, assesses, and continuously improves EMS classroom, lab, simulation, online, clinical, and field instruction.
• Develops syllabi, lesson plans, schedules, and instructional materials aligned with standards.
• Onboards students, coordinates preceptors and Field Training Officers, and monitors progress.
• Maintains accurate documentation of attendance, grades, competencies, and clinical performance.
• Supports student retention, progression, credentialing eligibility, and workforce transition.
• Participates in program evaluation, accreditation activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Recommends equipment, supplies, and resources to meet objectives.
• Assists with lab/simulation prep, inventory, and maintenance.
