Job summary

The State of Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health: EMS Program seeks a full-time EMS Specialist in Carson City to assist with compliance certifications, licenses, and permit applications, inspect and train ambulance services, and provide technical assistance to agencies and the public.

The role involves documenting violations, developing training curricula, and coordinating statewide EMS programs to meet national standards.

Qualifications

Three or more years of EMS-related experience.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

Issue permits to ambulance services by inspecting vehicles and equipment for compliance.
Issue licenses to ambulance attendants by evaluating training and experience and ensuring requirements are met.
Certify emergency medical technicians and monitor training to meet standards.
Monitor and coordinate EMS training programs for adherence to national standards.
Develop curricula, determine required courses, and conduct certification testing.
Participate in developing minimum performance standards for EMS systems.
Monitor EMS systems by analyzing reports and quality assurance programs.
Provide needs assessments for problem areas needing solutions.
Collect, analyze, and maintain data; prepare analytical reports.
Assist investigations of complaints and determine appropriate actions.
Support epidemiologic studies concerning trauma issues.
Review, develop, and implement EMS program regulations.
Certify trauma centers in conjunction with the American College of Surgeons.
Perform related duties as assigned.
