Job summary

The City of Austin - ATCEMS is seeking motivated Cadets who will begin with a paid 8-week EMS Academy training, then progress to Medic – Field after a 12-month probation. You’ll gain hands-on field experience, credentialing, and join a team dedicated to high‑quality pre-hospital care.

• Must have EMT-B or higher certification.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Participates in EMS Academy training, including lectures, labs, simulations, and field practice.
• Engages in mandatory physical training and safety practices.
• Develops knowledge of patient advocacy and interagency teamwork.
• Assists in documenting patient care and reports.
• Learns operating an emergency vehicle and responding to scenes.
