Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of clinical health care experience with EHR.
• Experience with eCW/Medent or NextGen preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of the institutional clinical systems and clinical policies and procedures relevant to practice for each of the roles trained.
• Trouble-shoot system issues and provide IT support to employees.
• Has knowledge of patient education principles.
• Works with other facilities and organizations to find optimal utilization of the system.
• Perform patient panel cleanup and maintenance within the EHR.
• Update and maintain referring physician records within the EHR.
• Perform NDC (National Drug Code) cleanup and maintenance within the EHR.
• Answer eCW-specific helpdesk tickets and provide front-line troubleshooting support to end users.
• Support data accuracy and consistency within the EMR system.
• Travel to Oak Orchard Health sites as needed to provide on-site support.

Position Summary:

The EMR Support Specialist is a Level-2 Support position within the IT Help Desk, reporting to the EMR Optimization and Training Manager. This position is responsible for day-to-day data accuracy and maintenance within the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including patient panel cleanup, updating referring physician records, and NDC (National Drug Code) cleanup. This position answers eCW-specific helpdesk tickets, provides front-line troubleshooting and IT support to staff, and supports data accuracy and consistency across the EMR system. The position requires the ability to foster and maintain positive and close working relationships with staff in all departments, flexibility in schedule (some evenings and weekends may be required), and willingness to travel to Oak Orchard Health sites as needed.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications:

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to teach in both individual and group settings.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct data inconsistencies.

Education/Experience:

• Associates level degree preferred
• 3-5 years of clinical health care experience including use of an electronic health record.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in eCW/Medent or NextGen.
