Job summary

First Choice Primary Care, Inc. is seeking a Document Control Specialist to organize and evaluate patients’ health information in an outpatient medical setting. You will perform record-keeping, clerical duties, and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

The role involves managing documents in eCW, scanning records, and ensuring proper attachments and referrals are completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate Degree and/or certificate program preferred.
• Licensing typically not required.
• HIPAA regulations; maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Ability to work independently and with team.
• Organize and complete work in a timely manner.
• Read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track company documents through eCW.
• Monitors the eCW fax system on a daily basis.
• Retrieve, attach and scan paper records into the EMR.
• Review signed paperwork prior to attaching to patient charts.
• Scan records received by mail to patient charts for review.
• Forward scanned documents to appropriate receivers.
• Attach test results to orders in the EMR and route for review.
• Check refill requests in eCW and convert fax to telephone encounters.
• Scan and file various order requests to patient charts and mark as blank if unsigned.
