Job summary

The position requires a high school diploma, 2+ years of HIM experience, and comfort with Epic EMR; preferred degrees include an Associate or Bachelor's in Health Information fields.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HIM experience is required.
• Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) such as Epic is desirable.
• Must be accurate and detail oriented.
• Ability to learn HIM departmental systems and support EMR users.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills.
• Learns HIM departmental systems to support the EMR.
• Responds to user questions in a timely manner and reinforces training.
• Acts as liaison between HIM and HITS for design, testing, and post go-live support.
• Analyzes workflows and data collection; audits processes and reports issues to Management and HITS.
• Educates physicians on EMR processes and chart documentation obligations.
• Performs other HIM duties related to indexing, transcription, analysis, or ROI.
