Job summary

Waynesboro Redevelopment and Housing is seeking a passionate Family Self Sufficiency Coordinator to guide families toward economic independence and brighter futures within the community in Waynesboro, VA.

You will develop individualized FSS contracts, connect participants with resources, conduct regular case management, and ensure HUD compliance. Collaborate with local agencies, lead financial literacy workshops, and maintain precise records to support accountability and progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or related field.
• Experience in case management, social services, or community development.
• Knowledge of HUD Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) or public housing programs is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build trust with diverse populations.
• Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and managing multiple caseloads.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage individualized Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) contracts and action plans for program participants.
• Connect participants with community resources, social services, job training, and educational opportunities.
• Conduct regular case management meetings to monitor participant progress toward self-sufficiency goals.
• Coordinate with local agencies, employers, and service providers to expand resource networks.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant records, escrow accounts, and program documentation.
• Facilitate workshops and group sessions focused on financial literacy, employment readiness, and life skills.
• Ensure program compliance with HUD regulations and reporting requirements.
