Job summary

Home Life is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living active, independent lives. You will provide support with daily living activities, communicate effectively with staff and families, and participate in ongoing training to ensure safe, compassionate care.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 18+ years, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Ability to pass criminal history check and rechecks.
• Be a US citizen or legally able to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 and have a valid driver’s license, insurance and good driving record.
• Ability to complete required training and annual training thereafter.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and perform essential functions with/without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Assistant Program or Program Manager; adhere to all policies, rules, and procedures of Home Life and Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR).
• Ensure that working hours are accurately documented.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard individual information.
• Work as a team with the other support staff to ensure high-quality services for supported individuals.
• Communicate all pertinent information regarding individuals to staff or supervisors as needed.
• Maintain household supplies and yard maintenance as assigned by the House Manager.
• Attend staff meetings and required training as assigned.
• Review and complete company communications daily and communicate with staff, individuals, and community in a timely and professional manner.
• Navigate escalated situations or emergencies safely.
• Set and maintain healthy boundaries among coworkers and supported individuals.
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
