RHA Health Services is hiring a Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide highly individualized services in the community, promoting self-determination and recovery for individuals with mental health or substance use challenges. The role emphasizes strength-based interventions, advocacy, and peer mentoring to support independence and community integration.

The position involves leading groups, assisting daily decision making, and linking people to resources while modeling recovery and coping

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist in NC or PA.
• 1 year experience working with individuals with behavioral health issues preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Modeling effective coping and self-help techniques to individuals.
• Providing empowerment skills and support in successful recovery living.
• Assisting individuals in finding resources and encouraging follow-through with proposed resolutions.
• Leading peer support groups with individuals served.
• Supporting individuals in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems.
• Facilitating social opportunities in the community.
• Fostering development of healthy relationships by encouraging participation in community activities.
• Sharing personal story of recovery and resilience to instill hope.
