Job summary

A nonprofit health service organization is looking for a Young Adult Peer Mentor to provide support and guidance to youth. The ideal candidate will have personal experience in mental health recovery and a passion for empowering young adults. Responsibilities include 1:1 mentoring, facilitating community connections, and promoting healthy lifestyles. The role is part-time with a pay rate of USD $19.21 per hour.

Qualifications

• Effective communication with clients and staff.
• Self-knowledge and habits needed to support one’s health.
• Ability to assist clients with tasks of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 peer mentoring and support to YYA.
• Help YYA develop self-advocacy and life skills.
• Assist YYA in communicating with service providers.

Skills

Experience with psychiatric conditions

Co-occurring disorders support

Self-advocacy skills

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in human services
