Job summary

RYSS Texas Public Schools RYSS Academy at Pasadena, Pasadena, Texas, is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support instructional activities under supervision. You will assist with student groups, supervise during meals and events, and help prepare ARD/IEP paperwork under the direction of the Principal.

Educational Aide certificate or equivalent is required; two years of college or an associate degree (or THEA qualifying) are acceptable credentials.

Qualifications

• Educational Aide certificate as established by the State Board for Educator Certification.
• Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (defined as completion of 48 semester hours) of college course work.
• Possess an associate's (or higher) degree; or meet a rigorous standard of quality through THEA verifying knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher(s) with student academic goals, by working with small groups of children or an individual child
• Assists teacher(s) in the enforcement of classroom management and behavioural plans, creating an environment that is appropriate for learning.
• Assists with supervising students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, special events, and programs.
• Assists teacher(s) in the preparation of paperwork for the ARD/IEP process. Collects and enters data for completion of special education reports and documents.
• Assists teacher(s) with the planning, preparation and implementation of differentiated instruction for individual students and groups.
• Performs other campus duties as assigned.
