UTMB Health in Galveston, TX invites applications for a Financial Aid Counselor who will assist students and families with funding their education. Counseling on grants, loans, scholarships, work-study, and student accounts; reviewing eligibility; managing aid packages; ensuring regulatory compliance; and providing budgeting guidance.

Collaborate with campus offices to support enrollment and stay current on federal/state rules.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Three years of related experience in Admissions, Registration, Records, Financial Aid, or student accounts in higher education.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this role.

Responsabilités

Counsel students and families on financial aid options (grants, loans, scholarships, work-study, student accounts).
Review documents to determine financial aid and scholarship eligibility.
Develop, manage, and monitor student financial aid packages (grants, loans, work-study, scholarships).
Participate as a team member to improve customer service efficiency for schools, students, and alumni.
Effectively communicate with students, alumni, UTMB departments and external entities.
Resolve customer issues proactively and craft complete solutions.
Articulate state, federal and institutional policies clearly to customers.
Process complex financial aid changes within guidelines and regulations.
Serve as liaison to schools ensuring quality customer service and support.
