Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of instructional practices and delivery related to specially designed instruction.
• Extensive knowledge of general content curriculum standards and age-appropriate development.
• Knowledge of state and federal policies overseeing services for students with disabilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to protect FERPA confidentiality and follow related laws.
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with others.
• Ability to motivate students and supervise safety.
• Ability to address diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
• Strong communication skills in oral and written form.

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities and uses evaluations to update goals.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring to provide SDA.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
• Employs varied teaching methods and adapts materials to meet needs.
• Monitors behavior, maintains classroom discipline, and teaches behavioral strategies.
• Evaluates student work and updates instruction based on progress reports.
• Attends IEP meetings and collaborates with the team.
• Stays current with trends and best practices through PD and collaboration.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
