Job summary

ESC Region 11 is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide targeted instruction and supports for students with diverse needs at the assigned campus. You will develop and modify curricula, design lessons, and apply ARD-approved IEP goals to foster growth across intellectual, emotional, and social domains.

You will collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and staff; participate in ARD meetings; and ensure compliance with district policies while maintaining a safe, supportive learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and valid Texas SPED certification.
• Texas SPED endorsement required for assignment.
• Experience with ARD/IEP processes and goal setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop IEPs through ARD with parents and staff.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill programs and document prep.
• Assess learning styles; plan strategies and materials.
• Present material per IEP guidelines using varied media.
• Collaborate with regular teachers to modify curricula for SPED students.
• Participate in ARD meetings regularly.
• Assist in selecting instructional books and media.
• Direct the work of instructional aides and volunteers.
