Job summary

Auburn City Schools is seeking a Secondary Teacher for 187 contract days to deliver instructional programs designed to advance student growth. The teacher will align lessons with system and state priorities, use varied teaching methods, and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.

Responsibilities include developing plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with administrators and peers to support school improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Certified by the State of Alabama in the appropriate area.
• Must meet the No Child Left Behind Act regulations/requirements.
• Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

Responsibilities

• (1) Create or select long-range plans based on a review of system and state curriculum priorities, student profiles and instructional priorities.
• (2) Define goals and objectives for unit and daily plans.
• (3) Sequence content and activities appropriately.
• (4) Identify specific intended learning outcomes which are challenging, meaningful and measurable.
• (5) Revise plans based on student needs.
