Responsibilities

• Understand and uphold school rules, regulations, and district policy.
• Participate in school and system operations through meetings and committees.
• Do not take other employment that interferes with duties.
• Follow the AEA Code of Ethics.
• Follow approved curricula and materials as directed by administration.
• Foster positive student attitudes and promote citizenship and self-discipline.
• Report to duty on time and stay after school as required.
• Instruct assigned classes at designated times.
• Create a conducive classroom environment within resource limits.
• Maintain appropriate discipline and assist in school-wide discipline.
• Prepare for classes and show written prep upon request.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Evaluate student progress per established procedures.
• Seek specialist assistance and make referrals as needed.
• Protect students and school property from harm or damage.
• Be available for education-related parent conferences outside instructional hours.
• Collaborate with staff on planning school activities and goals.
• Assist in selecting instructional materials and books.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and faculty meetings.
• Maintain professional relationships with parents and community.
• Promote positive public relations for the school system.
