Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs in California is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students in Grades K-12. You will collaborate with classroom educators to implement IEP goals and provide personalized supervision in classroom and community settings.

Starting rate: $22 - $24 per hour based on experience. A CA driver's license is preferred. This role offers meaningful work in a student-centered environment with growth opportunities and professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent w/ passage of basic skills test.
• Associate degree or higher in education or a related field of study preferred.
• Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver's license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in crisis management training.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional or related credential preferred.
• Prior experience providing instruction, guidance and/or support to children; preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.
• Knowledge of working with children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders and related disabilities.
• Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
• Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
• Implementing individualized instruction and behavioral interventions.
• Instructing and monitoring students during lessons with fidelity.
• Tracking progress and communicating with teachers on student needs.
• Managing student behavior in collaboration with teachers.
• Mentoring students to develop community, vocational, leisure, and academic skills.
• Documenting behaviors and performance accurately and timely.
• Preparing behavioral reports and daily activity logs.
• Communicating with students, families, and staff regarding needs and outcomes.
• Maintaining confidentiality of student records.
• Participating in accreditation activities and school-wide meetings.
• Responding to feedback and contributing to professional growth.
