Job summary

EDUCATIONAL SERVICE DIST 112 Curae Center in Vancouver, WA is hiring Classroom Specialists to support students with significant needs for the 2026-2027 school year. Positions are 32.5 hours per week with a school-year schedule, starting August 2026.

Under supervision of the Special Education Teacher, you will assist with instruction, classroom management, functional skills, and behavior support plans, while maintaining safety and data collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 48 sem./72 quarter credits from an accredited college or university.
• Passing score of 455 on ParaPro or 220 on Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment, or 65% on Master Teacher program.
• Ability to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR.
• Written and oral communication skills sufficient for essential duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with instruction and classroom management.
• Support students with communication, self-care, social skills, and functional academics.
• Collect data for Behavioral Assessments and contribute to Behavior Support Plans.
• Follow Behavior Support Plan and use de-escalation techniques.
• Provide health-related tasks per nurse and teacher instructions.
• Facilitate safe, respectful interactions and assist in group or individual activities.
