Job summary

Elite School Staffing seeks a School Social Worker in Detroit, MI to support students in the Special Education department. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:00 pm, with immediate hiring and an annual pay of $50 per hour.

Responsibilities include assessing students, recommending IEP services, collaborating with the IEP team, and providing crisis intervention as needed. Strong MARSE knowledge and liaison skills with parents and schools are essential.

Qualifications

• MSW in Social Work is required and must be in good standing.
• At least three years delivering Special Education social work services.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of K-9 special education requirements and MARSE guidelines.
• Ability to liaise with parents, schools and agencies effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assess student needs and recommend IEP services to improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with the IEP team to support students and families.
• Provide crisis intervention and social work services as needed.
• Consult with parents and teachers on intervention strategies.
• Utilize FBA’s, BIP’s, and MDRs as applicable.
• Maintain documentation and written diagnostic reports for referrals.
