Job summary

SAU 13 seeks a School Counselor to join its team, implementing a Comprehensive School Counseling Program aligned with national and NH standards. The counselor will collaborate with staff, families, and the community to promote student achievement across academic, social-emotional, and career domains.

The position involves individual and group counseling, developmentally appropriate curriculum delivery, data-driven program planning, and active participation in district initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree as required for School Counselor.
• State of New Hampshire School Counseling Certification required.
• Experience and other qualifications as specified by the Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SAU school counselors to develop and maintain a Comprehensive School Counseling Program.
• Provide individual and small group counseling to meet student needs.
• Deliver a developmental core curriculum supporting academic, social/emotional, and career development.
• Identify and develop activities to meet students' needs in each school.
• Use data to guide program development and student planning.
• Provide information, resources, referrals, and consultation to teachers, families, and community agencies.
• Assist with educational planning including IEP/504 and other plans.
• Support transitions between schools and other programs.
• Participate in school and district committees to promote a positive climate.
• Maintain confidential and accurate records using technology.
