Job summary

Stark County Educational Service Center seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide school-based physical therapy for students with disabilities in partnership with school districts. You will supervise physical therapy assistants, consult with families and staff, and act as a fieldwork instructor for university students under MTSS guidance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ohio Educator License with a Physical Therapy License from OTPTAB.
• Ohio BCI and Federal Background check clear of disqualifying infractions.
• Complete required trainings (Bloodborne Pathogens, Crisis Intervention, Educator Ethics, etc.).
• Maintain confidentiality and high ethical standards.
• Experience with children ages 3–21 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with formal and informal evaluations and reevaluations as appropriate.
• Follow protocol for screening, referral, evaluation, IEP, and procedures.
• Develop student goals with supervising therapist meeting MSP requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and progress.
• Use data sheets and progress reports to reflect status and progress.
• Provide evidence-based activities in the least restrictive environment.
• Collaborate with teachers to transfer learned skills to the classroom.
• Supervise fieldwork for university students in OT/PT programs.
• Communicate professionally with families and school personnel.
