Job summary

Stark County Educational Service Center in North Canton, Ohio is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide school-based physical therapy services to students with disabilities, collaborate with districts, and support MTSS.

The role includes supervision of PTAs, participation in team meetings, and duties to ensure compliant documentation and advocacy for students and families. Starting date is immediate.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ohio Educator License as required by placement or assignment including a Physical Therapy License from the Ohio OT, PT and AT Board.
• Ohio BCI and Federal Background check free of disqualifying infractions.
• Comply with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with formal and informal evaluations and reevaluations as appropriate.
• Follow protocol for screening, referral, evaluation, IEP, and organizational procedure/processes.
• Demonstrate independent problem solving skills to complete PTA responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Assist supervising therapist in developing student goals meeting ODE MSP requirements.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student performance and progress in compliance with licensing boards.
• Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to transfer learned skills to the classroom.
• Attend and participate in Stark County ESC staff and department meetings.
• Integrate professional development through reading and meetings.
