Job summary

POWER Recovery in Swissvale, PA is seeking a Mentor to support women in recovery through peer-based, non-clinical services grounded in lived experience. You will engage clients, develop Recovery Plans, and connect them with community resources.

As a Mentor, you will build relationships, motivate clients, and teach recovery and life skills while collaborating with teams to ensure comprehensive care and successful outcomes in the community setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of 4 years' experience living with a substance use disorder and 4 years' demonstrated recovery time
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
• Reliable vehicle and motor vehicle insurance
• CRS (Certified Recovery Specialist) credential required or ability to complete training within three months of hire
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint navigation

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing recovery support services to approximately 20–30 individuals
• Conduct outreach and use assertive engagement strategies
• Build trusting relationships and motivate clients
• Model healthy recovery behaviors
• Complete needs assessments and develop Recovery Plans
• Monitor progress and review plans regularly
• Teach recovery and life skills
• Empower clients in their recovery journey
• Connect clients to community resources
• Assist with accessing services and support networks
• Provide education on self-help groups
• Promote multiple pathways to recovery
• Partner with providers and agencies
• Work with internal teams
• Support treatment engagement
• Participate in meetings
• Complete documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain records per policy
• Participate in training and outreach
