Job summary

Parents and Children Together is seeking a dedicated Parent Educator in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role offers home visiting services to families with young children (0–3) involved with Child Welfare Services, aiming to improve maternal and child health, safety, and development knowledge.

Responsibilities include developing Family Service Plans with families, administering developmental screenings (ASQ, ASQ-SE), and documenting assessments and progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required plus two (2) years previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and daily access to an automobile.
• Can obtain acceptable background checks (pre-hire driver’s abstract, CWS check, National Sex Offender Registry).

Responsibilities

• Provide home visiting services to families with young children ages 0-3 in accordance with funder standards and agency policies.
• Develop a meaningful Family Service Plan (FSP) with the family and team to address risk factors and health and safety needs.
• Administer developmental screens and assessments (ASQ, ASQ-SE, hearing, vision, AAPI).
• Complete clear, concise documentation (initial assessments, monthly updates, closing reports) timely.
• Provide linkage to community resources and follow-up with support services as needed.
• Conduct outreach activities to engage hard-to-reach families in a respectful manner.
• Maintain relationships with referral sources, CWS partners, state agencies, funders, and providers.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education, social work, health, psychology, or a related field
