Job summary

TSP Ed Co in New Bedford, MA, is seeking a compassionate Paraprofessional / Instructional Aide to support students in a school setting. You will work with teachers and the special education team to provide targeted assistance and foster a positive learning environment.

You will provide direct 1:1 and small-group support, help with academics and classroom activities, and reinforce positive behaviors as part of a multidisciplinary school team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children or adolescents preferred.
• School-based and/or special education experience is a plus.
• Experience supporting students with behavioral or developmental needs preferred.
• Ability to follow individualized student plans and established classroom strategies.
• Strong communication, teamwork, patience, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 and/or small-group support to students.
• Assist students with academic assignments and classroom activities.
• Support students with behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs.
• Reinforce positive behaviors and implement established behavior strategies.
• Assist students with transitions, routines, and participation throughout the school day.
• Support students in developing greater independence and self-advocacy skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and other school professionals.
• Follow individualized student plans, accommodations, and classroom strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate student needs and progress.
