Job summary

Hebrew Public Charter Schools seeks a driven Middle School Special Education ELA Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-based instruction and monitor student progress in collaboration with colleagues. The role involves providing instructional services to students with IEPs, coordinating with staff, communicating with families, and aligning practices with NYS exams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Masters degree is a plus.
• K-12 lead teaching experience in a classroom is a plus.
• Experience in urban, public charter, or Title I schools is a plus.
• Hold NY teacher certification or working towards certification is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional services to students with IEPs in reading, mathematics, and writing.
• Deliver prescribed instructional methods as determined by the student’s IEP.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services for students.
• Communicate and conference with parents about student progress.
• Manage an organized and professional classroom conducive to learning.
• Support student and school needs in preparing for the NYS State Exam.
• Collaborate with peers and administration to develop a multifaceted curriculum.
• Lead classroom differentiation through curricular modifications and integrated strategies.
• Assess and develop goals for the IEP process and implement IEP goals.
