Job summary

Hebrew Public in New York is seeking a Kindergarten Learning Specialist to deliver standards-based instruction, utilize Responsive Classroom techniques, and monitor student progress while collaborating with colleagues to refine teaching practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; Masters degree is a plus
• K-12 lead teaching experience in a classroom setting is a plus
• Experience in urban, public charter, or Title I schools is a plus
• Hold NY teacher certification or working towards certification is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Legally authorized to work in the USA
• Committed to all students with high standards
• Committed to professional growth through feedback

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional services to students with IEPs in reading, math, and writing
• Deliver prescribed instructional methods as determined by the student’s IEP
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services
• Communicate progress with parents and document student progress
• Manage an organized, professional classroom conducive to learning
• Support students for success on NYS State Exam
• Collaborate with peers and administration on curriculum integration
• Differentiate instruction and adapt to individual needs
• Develop goals for the IEP process and implement strategies
• Attend IEP meetings and parent conferences
