IMPACT PREP AT CHESTNUT is seeking a Middle School Art Teacher for grades 6-8 in Springfield, MA. The role supports the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership with a strong focus on instructional excellence and student belonging.

The candidate will hold MA DESE licensure in Visual Arts or Theatre (or be eligible for a waiver), with experience teaching in middle or high school settings. Salary ranges from the BU schedule with a starting date in August 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the middle or high school level.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MA DESE license in Visual Arts or Theatre or waiver eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-aligned, rigorous instruction using research-based curriculum and effective instructional strategies.
• Build strong relationships with students, maintain high expectations, and foster a sense of belonging in the school community.
• Collaborate with colleagues in co-teaching teams and professional learning communities; engage families as partners.
• Uphold school-wide expectations and participate in ongoing professional learning and growth.
