Job summary

Corvallis School District 509J is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a 1.0 FTE temporary position starting in the 2026/2027 school year. The role focuses on creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment and coordinating services for students with disabilities.

The position requires Oregon SPED licensure, collaboration with teachers, and strong knowledge of IDEA/IEP processes, with duties including evaluation coordination and family communication.

Qualifications

• Must hold Oregon Special Education endorsement with appropriate license.
• Experience with students with wide range of disabilities.
• Knowledge of state and federal SPED regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Create and model a respectful learning environment.
• Plan and implement a program of study and/or specially designed instruction.
• Serve as case manager for services to students in LRC or Life Skills.
• Coordinate IDEA evaluations and participate in IEP development.
• Develop data-based progress monitoring and behavior support plans.

Education

Oregon teaching license with SPED endorsement
