Job summary

St. Labre Indian School is seeking an Academic Reading Intervention Specialist to support students from kindergarten through 4th grade with targeted reading and math skill development.

The role includes one-on-one and small-group work, coordinating with classroom teachers, and coaching staff in reading strategies used in the classroom. Responsibilities include creating daily lesson plans, using progress-monitoring assessments, and aligning interventions with the school’s program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Montana Teaching Certificate or sufficient credits for state accreditation with Reading Endorsement.
• Willingness to learn and adapt reading intervention strategies.

Responsibilities

• Work with students K–4 to strengthen targeted reading and math skills.
• Develop daily, interactive lesson plans based on student needs.
• Administer and share results of assessments monitoring progress.
• Consult with teachers on reading instruction using progress-monitoring tools.
• Coordinate reading and math instruction with total curriculum.
