Qualifications

• Requires valid Ohio Intervention Specialist licensure.

Responsibilities

• Helps students learn subject matter and/or skills that contribute to development as responsible individuals.
• Plans a program of study meeting individual needs with written evidence of preparation.
• Creates a conducive classroom environment suited to student maturity and interests.
• Employs instructional methods and materials to meet objectives.
• Assesses student progress regularly and provides progress reports.
• Counsels with colleagues, students and/or parents regularly.
• Assists administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
• Develops reasonable classroom behavior rules and procedures.
• Maintains order in the classroom fairly.
• Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides/volunteers and evaluates their performance.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Participates in co-curricular activities and strives for professional improvement.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees.
• Assists in developing IEPs and instructional objectives for students with disabilities.
• Makes modifications and accommodations for students in regular or special education settings.
• Monitors progress in accordance with the IEP.
• Reports to and carries out other duties as assigned by the principal.
